Themed, Private Tours In France
Curated, private experiences from three days to three weeks.
France has 45,000 monuments and 53 World Heritage Sites. I would lie if I told you I have seen them all. However, in my quest to see most of France's major marvels, I plan to share them with future visitors.
And I keep marveling at those world-class masterpieces and monuments in France that are barely known. How is it possible?
Everyone knows about Versailles or the Mona Lisa, so millions come. But the biggest medieval cathedral in France? It is almost twice as big as Notre Dame de Paris but is practically empty.
You probably know of the Bayeux Tapestry, but what about the largest medieval tapestry, too wide to fit in one photo? There's barely anyone there.
I can make suggestions when I meet people in Paris or via video call and understand what interests them.
There are often sites they may never have heard of or that their travel agents did not know about, which is precisely the point.
Why do it as everyone else?
Discover that with an Art Journey-themed tour, always private, for one to five persons, lasting from a few days to three weeks. We can travel by taxi, train, pushbike along the Loire, or chauffeured car.
It is a 'Friends on an adventure' journey—a daily Moment of Wonder, gaining memories to treasure for a lifetime.
We can walk in Vincent van Gogh's footsteps, from the musée d'Orsay to Auvers sur Oise (where he is buried) to Saint Rémy de Provence (the asylum where he painted masterpieces, still an asylum today) to Arles.
Do you dream of visiting Mont Saint Michel? Some people assure you it is possible to make a day trip from Paris, but it means eight hours in a car and one hour to enjoy the site.
Worse, it is a small rocky island that you must climb with the thousands who arrived simultaneously, entering the Abbey—at first, an underground labyrinth—to emerge to the top.
When you don't have five minutes to sit and contemplate, you miss the opportunity to comprehend that this World Heritage Site took 500 years to build.
The solution is to set off on a two-day adventure, discovering a couple of sites on the way and, crucially, staying the night there.
Depending on the season, visit late or early to beat the crowd, see the sunset, and enjoy a quiet Mont Saint Michel once visitors have left.
We can also use Paris as a base to explore the city's less visited sites and those accessible within an hour or so of Paris.
We can also take a private tour of the Sèvres porcelain manufacture, seeing and talking to artisans who produce precisely the same quality as what used to be the preserve of the kings.
By building a theme together and discussing it in advance, we can deliver journeys to treasure for the rest of your life.
